A dream come true... One summer I listened exclusively to Sonny Rollins - East Broadway Rundown and on this LP was Sonny's version of We Kiss In a Shadow. Later in life, I ventured into West Germany to perform-just after the Berlin Wall had come down and there, I met a married couple from East Germany who eventually got over to the West - they described their life in East Germany, always in the shadows ....always hiding - afraid to be heard - I based my interpretation of this fine standard on their situation -
Sir Roland Hanna is there with me... lovely - changes into minor.
